Kiribati

2021 – 2023: Kiribati: South Tarawa Renewable Energy Project [Phase 2] (STREP2) as Preparing Floating Solar Plus Projects under the Pacific Renewable Energy Investment Facility (PREIF) for Public Utilities Board of Kiribati with assistance from Asian Development Bank. The PREIF aims to assist the eleven Pacific Island Communities (PIC-11) achieve ambitious renewable energy targets, reduce reliance on diesel fuel, reduce power generation costs, reduce tariffs, avoid greenhouse gas emissions, and build institutional capability Scope: For Kiribati under STREP2, Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) carried out environmental due diligence, preparing the IEE for a 5Mw floating solar array and associated landside works including a new 33Kv overhead cable network running the length of South Tarawa. Tuvalu

Solomon Islands

Scope: , Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) carried out environmental due diligence (environmental audit of port operations, REA, IEE document, on-site noise monitoring, meetings with Government and Non-Government Organisations)

January 2019 – June 2020: Transport Sector Project Delivery Facility (TSPDF), Solomon Islands for Ministry of Infrastructure Development with assistance from Asian Development Bank.
Scope: , Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) prepared IEEs for rehabilitation and upgrading of 44 Km of roads, 10 bridges and 7 wharves across the Solomon Islands.

Vanuatu

May 2018 to December 2019: Cyclone Pam School Reconstruction Project. Vanuatu for Ministry of Education and Training with assistance from Asian Development Bank, Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction.
Scope: Environmental compliance during reconstruction of four schools damaged during Cyclone Pam. Included Contractor training in the preparation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and training of National Environmental Specialists in the implementation, audit and reporting of environmental performance on-site.

Papua New Guinea

July 2016 to June 2017: Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Project, Phase 2, Papua New Guinea for Ministry of Works with assistance from World Bank.
Scope: Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) carried out on site monitoring, audit and reporting on the environmental performance of Contractors on two 40km road rehabilitation projects on the coast of Papua New Guinea.

Samoa

June 2018 to February 2020: Alaoa Multi-Purpose Dam Project, Apia, Samoa for Electric Power Company of Samoa with assistance from Asian Development Bank.
Scope: Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) prepared the environmental impact assessment (EIA) document for the construction and operation of a multi-purpose dam to provide flood protection, hydropower generation and water supply for the city of Apia, Samoa. Led EIA team including national and international ecologists assessing impact and mitigation options for critical habitat and maintaining environmental flow (ADB Environmental Safeguards Category A).

Tonga

December 2019 – October 2021: Strengthening Domestic Transport Connectivity – Fanga’uta Lagoon Crossing, Tonga for Ministry of Infrastructure with assistance from Asian Development Bank.
Scope: Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) prepared the EIA document for a bridge to cross Fang’auta Lagoon together with its connecting road infrastructure (ADB Environmental Safeguards Category A)

Tajikistan

October 2018 to December 2019: CAREC Road Corridors 2,3 and 5 (Obigarm to Nurobod) Tajikistan for Ministry of Transport with assistance from Asian Development Bank.
Scope: Prepared EIA for rehabilitation of an 80Km alignment through uplands in Tajikistan to replace a road that will be flooded due to the impoundment of the Roghan hydropower dam. (ADB Environmental Safeguards Category A)

Azerbaijan

March 2016 to July 2018: Alat-Astara Highway, Jalilabad Intersection to Shorsulu Intersection (km 110+700 to km 80+600) for Azerbaijan Ministry of Transport, Azeryolservis with assistance from Asian Development Bank.
Scope: Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) carried out on-site monitoring of environmental performance by the Contractor on a 60km road project crossing sensitive wetlands. Key challenges were confirming acceptable environmental performance and successfully implementing a Turtle Management Plan. (ADB Environmental Safeguards Category A). Kyrzyzstan

October 2013 to June 2017: CAREC Road Corridor – 1. (Bishkek – Torugart road) Project 3 Km 479+000 – 539+000 for Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Kyrgyzstan with assistance from Asian Development Bank. Scope: Andrew Taylor (Envision-2020) conducted safeguards compliance monitoring for a 60km road project sited at an altitude of 3,750m, passing through a State Reserve and adjacent to Lake Chatyr Kul RAMSAR site (ADB Environmental Safeguards Category A). Armenia

August 2020 – May 2021: Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy, 2020-2040. Technical Assistance to the Government of Armenia (GoA) to support developing (i) a transport master plan, (ii) a trade facilitation plan, (iii) a road safety plan and program, and (iv) modal action plans. including addressing environmental protection and social protection, social safeguards, and gender.

November 2015 – June 2016 M6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Georgian Border Interstate Road Rehabilitation and Improvement. The road is heavily used and under capacity, the project focused on safety by upgrading to improve: steep gradients; tight curves; poor sightlines; rockfall protection; and unlit tunnels.

Scope: Determination of sensitive receivers, potential for adverse impact and identification for mitigation of impact. Preparation of IEE and EMP.
